CHOR Teen Visit Room - August 2020

The Children's Home of Reading operates a foster care program and a residential program for teens.

The facility has several playrooms for visits - all of their rooms are in need of a makeover and they had a special need for a visit room designed for teens.

Thanks to the help of a generous sponsor, a team of volunteers and a large group of donors we were able to transform this space into a "Teen Zen Den" that is inviting and joyful.

The room includes a comfy futon sofa, bean bag chairs and a new rug to create an inviting sitting space.  The shelves were stocked with dozens of new board and card games, bins filled with journals, sketch books and coloring books, and a new TV with a DVD player - giving families lots of choices for acitivites to engage in together.  The mood of the room is set by a collection of plants, an essential oil defuser, a blue tooth speaker and lots of carefully selected wall art and decorative items.

Thank you to Christine Nepple, her friends and family for this amazing room make over.
